Water festival is the biggest festival in many countries like Thailand, Laos, Myanmar, Cambodia as well as Yunnan, China. In some countries it is call ‘Songkran’ festival.

Actually it is the New Year's celebrations which people splash / pour water at one another as part of the cleansing ritual to welcome the New Year, That’s why Westerns called the 'Water Festival'. Normally water festival falls around 13 -15 April but this year in most of the countries except Laos, Laos celebrates the Laos New Year from 14 – 16 April.
